Stone Project

alt

alt

New Collection  "A project born from stone. We went inside its natural substance and studied the ways it is cut and worked. We sliced through it to rearrange its structure. The result is a new stone with improved technical properties but the same endless variation created by nature over millions of years."

Kyoto

alt

A home living in harmony with nature is a philosophy typical of the Japanese culture. Today oriental atmospheres cohabit with western styles in a mix of different trends. This tradition merges into modern architecture through minimalist shapes, rationalizing the spaces on the basis of new needs. Kyoto, a classic cut slate with plain colours and a slightly flaky effect.

Basic

alt

Basic also shows the linearity of sophisticated and contemporary shapes. Neutral colours, gloss and opaque bases are matched with brilliantly coloured vitreous materials to reinterpret metropolitan areas in a creative and original way.

Brera

alt

Grigio 0110

Rich, busy, boasting a long established tradition of culture and art, Brera is certainly the liveliest part of Milan. Many boutiques are designed using the Nanto stone. This stone, the source of inspiration for the "BRERA" line, fully captures the colours and surfaces that make Milan a unique, "modern" city.

Mikado

alt

Mogano 0110

The name derives from the well-known oriental game played with wooden or ivory sticks. These were held in a bunch, allowed to fall randomly in a pile, and then the sticks were removed one at a time. Mikado refers to this set of thin strips of natural wood which, carefully assembled and glued, create interesting wooden modules.

Simple

Overview

Ergon porcelain tiles have excellent aesthetic qualities inspired by natural products; Ergon has special properties in terms of mechanical and chemical strength and cleanability that remain constant over time. These features make Ergon the first new generation of fine porcelain stoneware with available a wide range of colours and finishes to meet almost every desire. The available surface finishes are:

Naturalle

An extremely compact vitrified surface obtained using an innovative, patented production technique that makes it possible to obtain an unglazed product devoid of porosity.

Lappato

Particularly soft to touch surface of relative brilliance, obtained by a mechanical action that instead of removing material in a homogenous manner, only acts on certain areas.

Levigado Lucido

The natural full-body product is subject to the action of polishing springs that remove part of the surface to make it perfectly glossy and reflective. The sides are then ground and squared.

A Spacco

The typical appearance of stone cut according to its natural morphological structure that recreates stylish, slightly irregular surfaces of great character. Perfect flooring paving and cladding, indoors and out.

Bocciardato - Strutturatto

A rough, decisive natural surface that combines the rough effect of stone with effective properties ideal for outdoor paving.

Rullato

A pleasant decorative effect that reproduces lines etched in the surface. Particularly well suited to use as a decoration and where non-slip properties are required.

Characteristics

HIGH PERFORMANCE

Ergon porcelain stoneware reflects a project combining design culture with highly skilled industrial processes and advanced technologies.

A touch of refined elegance is added to the excellent technical performances, passing all the tests set by the European and United States standards.

Independent laboratories in the United States, France, the Far East and Australia confirm the high quality of Ergon.

ERGON STAIN RESISTANT (ISO 10545-14)

Ergon is the outcome of an overall research project which was involved the whole company, from the raw material research function through to the departments which design the production plants. As well as its excellent aesthetic qualities inspired by natural products, Ergon has special properties in terms of mechanical and chemical strength and cleanability that remains constant over time. These features make Ergon the first new generation of fine porcelain stoneware.

Cleanability is Ergon's standout quality. The material's stain proofing is confirmed by ISO 10545-14 testing. Ergon is a class 5 material, the highest classification. Stains are easily removed from all surfaces, natural and polished, by simply washing with hot running water.

ERGON IS RESISTANT TO CHEMICAL ETCHING (ISO 10545-13)

Ergon tiles are obtained by processing high quality raw materials. This is further confirmed by the ISO 10545-13 test which shows resistance to acids and bases. Samples of the fine porcelain stoneware were immersed in aggressive chemical solutions for 28 days without any alteration. Ergon tiles have also been tested under the more severe ASTM American standards, which confirm Ergon's chemical resistance.

ERGON IS FROST RESISTANT (ISO 10545-12)

Ergon tiles are non-absorbent and thus absolutely frost proof. Naturally, Ergon complies with the norm ISO 10545-12 which requires the tile examined to withstanding 100 freezing-thawing cycles.

ERGON IS NON ABSORBENT (ISO 10545-3)

In order to classify a porcelain as 'fully vitrified' or impervious, the ISO 10545-3 and ASTM C-373 norms require an absorption of less than 0, 5%. Ergon's water absorption value is actually nil (0, 04%) A non-absorbent material is unaffected by frost, is compact, and withstands mechanical stresses.

ERGON HAS HIGH BREAKING STRENGTH (ISO 10545-4)

Porcelain tiles are commonly used in industrial or high traffic flooring applications. In such conditions, with heavy dynamic and static loading, the material's bending strength is critical. Ergon resists mechanical pressure. The ISO 10545-4 standard prescribes a minimum bending strength of 1300N, calculated as the stress at which the tile fails. Ergon achieves much higher values of over 2400N

ERGON IS WEAR RESISTANT (ISO 10545-6)

Deep abrasion testing reveals the material's hardness. The reference value indicates the amount of material removed from a sample by the combined action of a rotating disk and abrasive powder. The ISO 10454-6 standard establishes a maximum limit of 1755 mm³ of removed material. Ergon is well within the requirements of the standard, with an average value of 115 mm³.

ERGON IS SCRATCH RESISTANT (Mohs Hardness)

The hardness of the surface is expressed also as resistance to scratching. The tile is scratch with the sharp edges of the sample minerals, arranged in increasing hardness from 1 to 10 on the Mohs scale, where 10 is diamond. The product standard requires a minimum rating of class 6; Ergon is Mohs class 8.

ERGON IS SHOCK RESISTANT (ISO 10545-5)

Fine porcelain stoneware has higher shock resistance than any other ceramic product. Ergon passes the shock-resistance test with steel balls.

ERGON HAS ANTISKID SURFACE (DIN 51130)

Fine porcelain stoneware are widely used in public areas with high pedestrian traffic, subject to safety regulations. In many of its versions, Ergon meets the skid resistance values required by the strictest international standards (B.C.R.A. test, DIN 51130, ASTM C1028/89).

ERGON IS CERTIFIED

Ergon's quality level is assured by the Emilceramica Quality System, certified under ISO 9001. The industrial group was one of the first to be certified for all its production centers and all the technological processes.

This certification confirms the quality level not only of the product itself, but of all industrial and commercial activities, from design to the production system and sales.
